Puttita Supajirakul and Sapsiree Taerattanachai take gold at the PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters!

Bangkok — The 2019 HSBC BWF World Tour started yesterday at the PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters, the first official tournament of the tour, and Puttita Supajirakul and Sapsiree Taerattanachai (THA) delighted the home crowd with a first-place finish in women’s doubles.

Supajirakul and Taerattanachai bested Chinese pair Chinese Li Wenmei and Zheng Yu 15-21, 21-15, 21-10 in a compelling come-from-behind win. The victory marks the biggest win for the newly formed Thai pair this year.

Chinese legend Lin Dan also made it to the finals the of men’s singles bracket, but he was eventually bested by Sinagpore’s Loh Kean Yew, finishing with a silver medal for a nevertheless fantastic start to the year.

Yonex was again the official equipment sponsor of the PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters. Also, the Yonex Thailand team held events such as the Steep Attack Challenge, and player signings with popular Thai players, such as Khosit Phetpradab, Daihatsu YONEX Japan Open Finalist and men’s singles World No. 15, Kantaphon Wangcharoen, men’s singles World No. 16 and World Tour Finals Qualifier, and Nitchaon Jindapol, women’s singles World No. 18.
